What is Vitamin Water & its Benefits?

Vitamin water is exactly what it claims to be, water that is enriched with vitamins, minerals, certain herbs, and flavors. They are one of the most upscaling beverages introduced in the market in recent times.

Their composition would include a mix of water with fructose, sucrose, minerals like calcium lactate, magnesium chloride, sodium selenite, food acid: citric acid, color (fruit and vegetable juice), flavors, vitamins (Vitamin C, Niacin, Vitamin E, Pantothenic Acid, B6, Folate, Vitamin D, B12).

It is advertised as a healthy and replenishing beverage that helps keep you hydrated as well as nourished.  Let us look at some of the benefits it claims to provide!

  • It helps in promoting good health: It helps one make a conscious healthy choice when consuming it. The availability of water-soluble vitamins and the loaded minerals and electrolytes helps your body fight the free radical damage and also maintain body temperature.
  • Low calorie and Sugar-Free drinks: It is a win-win beverage for weight watchers and health enthusiasts as it caters to their psychological needs of being low calorie and sugar-free but tastier alternative to water. Not only this but it also provides our body with natural minerals and other nutrients.
  • Serves as an anti-aging formulated drink: One of the benefits of consuming vitamins and minerals through a beverage or any particular food for that matter would surely be its promising effect on anti-aging properties that are boosted and well supported due to the enhanced ability of the body to fight the oxidative damage caused on the aging body cells.
  • Staying well Hydrated: There is no debate as to one of the best possible benefits of indulging in a bottle of vitamin water is that it will keep you well hydrated. It will also help recompense for the losses that the body faces via sweat, stress, or cold.
  • Another problem that vitamin water claims to solve is that it helps overcome the limitation of some vitamin and mineral deficiencies.

However, there are contrasting opinions on its use and consumption and even a strong opposition which stands solid on the claim that vitamin water may just be a health gimmick after all. In spite of so many health claims and strong advocating points in their favor, the debate on the consumption of vitamin water is still on.
