Breakfast and its Importance

There is no question about the above statement. Breakfast is undoubtedly the most important meal of the day. Researchers also advocate the fact that having a healthy and wholesome breakfast is the best way to maintain your weight and overall health.

It is important to keep in mind that after starving the entire night, your body really craves eating lots and lots of food. Therefore, one must be conscious enough to include healthier and satiating options that can satisfy hunger but also nourish the body.

Eating breakfast provides the required caloric intake and energy to be functional and productive through out the day. It kicks starts the body’s metabolism.

Breakfast also increases satiety levels and helps improving the nature of our dietary pattern. People who eat breakfast generally have an overall healthy eating lifestyle and make healthy food choices. It also prevents unwanted snacking and binge eating.

 

Eating a regular healthy breakfast has shown to improve insulin sensitivity at the meals we eat the rest of the day. It helps prevent large fluctuations in your blood sugar levels which helps control appetite as well.

Having a healthy breakfast prevents your from feeling sluggish and fatigued through out the day. It provides energy in the form of glucose to the brain. Breakfast affects your mental performance and improves concentration and memory.

In fact, people who skip breakfast regularly have an increased risk of obesity and obesity related chronic diseases like diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular diseases and cholesterol issues.

When compared with people who skip breakfast those who eat breakfast regularly have lowered risk of developing illnesses and diseases.

Overall, not eating breakfast or skipping breakfasts regularly is a marker for being unhealthy. Therefore, it must be prioritized to the fullest!
